Dog Coats have been used in many diffrerent forms for many centuries. When men went to battle, thousands of years ago, they made sure that both their horses and dogs were given adequate body armour to protect them as much as possible. As the body armour was too heavy and cumbersome for the dogs, over time man gradually replaced the heavy metal, with thick fabric with chain mail over the top, then eventually just the thick fabric on it’s own.
Dog Coats have continued to evolve until they became the popular style that is so popular today.
People quickly recognised that by dressing their dog up in different clothes and coats, was a way in which their beloved pet became completely unique and stands out from the crowd.
